Brooklyn Moving Company & Storage Since 1993

For over 25 years, Oz Moving & Storage has been helping New Yorkers move into their new homes. No other NYC Movers knows Brooklyn like we do.

Brooklyn has made a name for itself as New York City’s hippest borough. But Oz has been moving Brooklynites around the borough far before all of the buzz. From Coney Island, to DUMBO, to Bay Ridge, Oz’s team of Brooklyn movers know all of the corner stores, bagel shops and distinct personalities of each of these neighborhoods. Brooklyn is both historic and modern; innovative and traditional; calm and chaotic. And all of these contradictions help make Brooklyn the special place that it is. Our movers were raised in these streets and have all of the insider knowledge to make your move a seamless one.

There are loads of moving companies in Brooklyn, but only one like Oz.

Who is Oz Moving?

Oz Moving & Storage has been offering moving services within Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the rest of New York City for almost 25 years - since 1993. One of Oz Moving & Storage’s first outposts was on Greenpoint Avenue, by the John Jay Byrne Bridge, so we know Brooklyn very well. In our 20+ years of moving around the borough, Oz Moving & Storage has become one of the most trusted moving companies in Brooklyn, NYC.

Since its humble beginnings in ‘93, Oz Moving & Storage has grown from a single truck and a small group of employees to become the very best Brooklyn, NY moving company. Oz currently directs parts of our crew of over 200 employees with 50 trucks in and out of Brooklyn every day, treating each Brooklyn resident’s move as our most important. (Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way!)

We used Oz Moving for a move from Brooklyn to Jersey City. Sebastian's team was fantastic and made a stressful moving process much easier and more organized than we've ever experienced.

Tips for Moving to Brooklyn: Best Neighborhoods

Brooklyn is made up of a lot of different neighborhoods; it can be difficult to find the area that is best for you. Here are three neighborhoods worth checking out in Brooklyn when looking for an apartment.

  • Crown Heights - An underrated south Brooklyn neighborhood with Caribbean flavor.
  • East Williamsburg - Like Williamsburg, without all the hi-rises and high rents.
  • Park Slope - A picturesque family-friendly neighborhood filled with greenery.

Biking in NYC

Brooklyn is a lovely borough to explore on the seat of a bicycle. With plenty of bike lanes and greenways, most of Brooklyn could be considered a cyclist’s paradise. Thinking about doing some bike riding yourself? Here’s a few tips on biking in NYC from our friends at Brooklyn Bicycle Co. (Should we link to their site?)

  • Grab the vital accessories before riding: a helmet, bell, and lights (for nighttime rides).
  • Lock up your bike everywhere you go. Thieves can pop up even in unexpected places.
  • Riding along with traffic whenever possible. If need be, take the lane.

Relaxing Brooklyn Spots

With all the stress that comes with living in the city that never sleeps, a New Yorker has gotta relax every once in a while! While there is a lot of excitement and energy in Brooklyn, the borough also has plenty of places for stressed out city dwellers to take a moment to exhale. Here are a few of our favorite spots:

  • Brooklyn Botanical Garden: a 52-acre wonderland filled with exotic greenery.
  • Green-Wood Cemetery:  Home of acres of scenic walkways & many passed-away New Yorkers.
  • Rockaway Beach: It’s not hard to reach NYC’s only beach with legal surfing.
  • Brooklyn Flea: One of the most popular flea markets in the world.

Moving from Brooklyn to Manhattan

Out of the five boroughs, two seem to constantly spar with one another for greatness: Brooklyn and Manhattan. We are not taking sides, but when considering a move between the two boroughs, here is what you should know:

  • Brooklyn is bigger, and more populated than Manhattan.
  • The transit system is more centralized in Manhattan, translating into improved commutes.
  • Owning a car and finding a parking space is easier in Brooklyn. More Brooklynites own a car than Manhattanites.
  • Manhattan has some of the best public schools throughout the city.
  • Manhattan has many art exhibits and wonderful museums.
