Oz Moving & Storage Scholarship 2014


We at Oz Moving & Storage know that paying for college can be a challenge. The courses, textbooks, and dorm life can add up quickly. We know that it may not be an easy journey, but the reward of an academic education will remain with you for a lifetime.

That's why Oz Moving & Storage decided to reach out and financially help one lucky student. Oz Moving & Storage $1,000 Essay Scholarship will be awarded to one qualifying graduating high school student or undergraduate college student with the most provocative and well-written essay.


We hope to see many student participants for our 2014 scholarship! Be sure to read the rules and submission details carefully before entering.*


Essays will be graded based on proper use of grammar and execution of ideas and argument on the student's topic of choice by selected staff of Oz Moving & Storage.


How to Enter:


Choose one essay topic from the two below to write about:

  1. If you had to move/save one item in your house, what would it be and why?

  2. Compare and contrast 2 locations you lived in, which one you liked better and what was the moving process like?


  • A minimum of 500 words
  • Open only to college-bound graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students currently enrolled in college in the U.S.
  • One (1) entry per student. Multiple entries will result in disqualification
  • Essays caught plagiarizing or off-topic will result in disqualification


Submission Details:


Deadline: Friday, April 4th, 2014, before 5:00PM EST.


Email your essays to attached as a Microsoft Word document for PC users or as a .doc file for Mac users. Please name your document file with your first and last name.

For example, firstname_lastname.doc.


In the email, include your:

Phone Number
High School Name, City and State
College you're attending as an undergraduate, plan to attend, or have applied for


The recipient of the scholarship will be chosen and notified by email by the end of June 2014 and announced on this page.

By submitting your essay, you agree that Oz Moving & Storage may use your essay in whole or in part for promotional purposes. No purchase necessary to enter. This information will remain confidential and used only to verify and contact the winner. Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for other prizes. We reserve the right to verify date of High School graduation and/or college enrollment. These rules are subject to change at any time by Oz Moving & Storage.


All federal, state and other tax liabilities arising from this Contest will be the sole responsibility of the Contest winner. Oz Moving & Storage, affiliates, advertising and promotions agencies, and each of their respective employees, agents and contractors shall have no liability and shall be held harmless by you for any and all damage, loss, liability or any injuries to person, business or properties, due in whole or part, directly or indirectly, by reason of your participation in this Contest, or your acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize(s) awarded hereunder to you.


Any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually in New York State. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, but in no event attorney's fees.
