Although the very best care will be taken when handling your belongings, accidental damage is sometimes inevitable given the nature of this business. On the day of the move, additional valuation coverage is available for shipments valued at $50,000 or less, containing no art/antiques/individual item valued at $5,000 or more. In the event your shipment is worth more than $50,000 and/or contains art/antiques/individual item valued at $5,000 or more, please notify your project manager immediately for full replacement insurance options. Full replacement value insurance must be purchased in advance of the move day.
For intrastate moves that originate in California, the minimum valuation provided by the mover at no cost to the shipper is $.60 cents per pound per article. This means the shipper (customer), regardless of the actual value, declares a maximum value of the goods $.60 cents per pound per article, pays nothing, and in the event of a loss, will recover a maximum of $.60 per pound based on the weight of the lost or damaged item. Additional valuation is available on the day of the move at a cost of $.75 per $100 based on the value of the entire shipment (up to $50,000, no art/antiques/$5,000+ valued items)
Oz Moving & Storage California maintains general liability insurance cover in excess of $5,000,000, as well as Workers Compensation and Disability insurance. Some apartment buildings require documentation of such coverage in the form of a certificate; many as well have minimum limits of liability requirements. A “certificate of insurance” is generally documentation of General Liability, Automobile Liability and Workers Compensation insurance. The certificate of insurance does not provide coverage for your goods; additional valuation or insurance must be purchased separately.
