Oz Moving & Storage California strongly recommends, if not requires, reserving the exclusive use of the elevator in all locations involved in the move. This should be done when scheduling the move with your building managers. Delivery of boxes for your personnel's packing needs should generally be scheduled one week in advance of the move. A floor plan of the new location should be made available to the movers on the day of move so that all items may be expeditiously placed upon delivery.
Desks & Credenzas
The contents of all desks and credenzas are to be emptied by your personnel and placed in containers prior to the arrival of our movers. All boxes should be labeled in accordance to your floor plan.
File Cabinets
All vertical file cabinets will be moved with the contents and do not need to be emptied (unless otherwise instructed). Lateral file cabinets up to three drawers high may be moved with the contents intact. All file drawers above the third drawer must be emptied into containers and labeled accordingly.
Supply Cabinets, Bookcases and Wall Units
All supply cabinets, bookcases, and wall units of any type must be emptied. Loose shelves will be packed by our movers.
Computers
All computer equipment (unless otherwise agreed to) will be packed and unpacked by Oz Moving & Storage California, using special protection bins and carriers. Computers should have the proper setting for transit. Any printers and CPUs will be moved according to the agreement made by your project manager.
Typewriters, Fax Machines, Copiers, and Miscellaneous Office Equipment
These units will be handled by our movers. If typewriters are bolted to table, they will need to be unbolted for transport. Please note, your copier company should be notified in advance of the move; in most lease cases, they will require the equipment be moved by their own personnel. Regardless of who will move the equipment, copiers must be made ready for transport by your equipment professional prior to the move.
Tagging
Color coded tags should be placed on the sides of all boxes (not on top). Only one tag per piece is required. File cabinets and storage cabinets should be tagged on the end (long end or handle end).
Wall Hangings and Pictures
Small personal pictures may be packed into containers and labeled "Fragile". Our movers will pack all other wall hangings and pictures. Please tag all pictures according to their location in the new location.
