In theory, commercial moving is a lot like residential moving; goods being transported from Point A to Point B. In practice, commercial moving is far more involved; timing is essential. Maximizing manpower and minimizing down time are key, and Oz Moving & Storage California’s Corporate Relocation division has the experience and know-how to plan and execute any size commercial relocation project. Our extensive list of satisfied clients includes Prudential Douglas Elliman, Daimler Chrysler Mercedes Benz, Sean Jean Clothing, Bad Boy Entertainment, Jacoby & Meyers, and LandAmerica.
Labor
The hourly rate for the crew is based on the number of movers and trucks required. We always assign the optimal number of movers to every job in order to minimize cost and maximize productivity.
Written Binding Estimates
With a Written Binding Estimate, the price we quote is the price you pay! A Written Binding Estimate is the correct legal term for a “flat” or “guaranteed” price, as opposed to an hourly estimate. An on-site estimate is required in order for Oz Moving & Storage California to provide a Written Binding Estimate (it is illegal to give binding estimates over the phone) and is based on the agreed upon inventory of goods to be moved and services to be provided. A binding estimate requires a consultation so that we may have an opportunity to physically evaluate the goods.
Packing/Unpacking
The services of packing and unpacking common areas are performed at the same hourly rate as the move. You are only charged the straight hourly rate for all labor services, there is no surcharge while they are packing and/or unpacking. Personal items, confidential articles, as well as the contents of each desk should be boxed by your personnel.
Basic Disassembly/Reassembly
Our crews are able to perform many basic disassembly requirements on the spot These services include disassembly and re-assembly of items such as l-shaped desks and simple partitions. These services are performed at the same hourly rate as the move. You are only charged the straight hourly rate for all labor services, there is no surcharge for disassembling or re-assembling basic items.
Advanced Disassembly/Reassembly
Disassembly and reassembly of items such as sofas, built-ins, armoires and some wall units is completed by an outside professional our recommended furniture specialist. These services are not included in the move price as they are not performed by Oz Moving & Storage California (please speak to your project manager should you require such services as a specialist may need to view the items prior to the move to estimate the cost and work required).
Trucks
The hourly rate quoted will include the manpower and vehicles. All Oz Moving & Storage California vehicles are custom, state-of-the-art air ride vehicles with lift gates and GPS tracking & navigation systems.
Boxes and Packing Materials
Boxes and packing materials are charged as used. If you are packed up and ready to go, or provide your own adequate boxes and materials, you will not incur the additional expense. In the event an item, such as a glass or marble table top or glass doors, requires a cardboard crate, you will be advises of any cost, and the crate will be made on the spot.
Also, Oz Moving & Storage California does not accept any goods in paper or plastic bags; all loose items, including televisions, electronics, lamps, pictures and mirrors must be boxed for safety and will not be carried loosely.
Custom Wood Crates
Art, antiques and some marble pieces may require (or you may request) a custom wood crate to be built. The crates must be designed and built in advance of the move, so please notify your project manager in advance. Also, please note wood crates are required for insured high value items (valued over $5000), such as artwork, glass, and marble.
